The Summit 2018: Radically Rooted

There are two things commonly expressed in the work of public theology. One, the evangelical concept that a faith without works is dead. The other is the need to become involved with social justice efforts. But how often have we engaged in social justice work without considering how we align our interior life with these social practices? Without a critically engaged analysis of proclaiming the good news in the public square, our work of social justice falls flat and is mere charity. This session is designed to critically analyze why living our faith out loud is of critical importance during this moment of the tyranny of the now. To do that work, we must engage our interior life of faith and analyze it with a turn toward the public square.
