For all peoples of faith, a sustained commitment to building Beloved Community necessitates deep rootedness in the words of sacred scripture. Using a model of co-discernment, we’ll examine the words of the Bible through multiple lenses, with special attention on how the passages intersect with our justice work.

Mark 5:21-43: Decolonizing the Gospel
How do we read the Bible? How do we follow the example of Jesus? And can we find in the gospels, all we need to become like the disciples? They wrote the gospels from the streets, not ivory towers. Can we find in the characters, ways to live more faithfully in the stories of God at work in the world?
