Michele Jawando is an attorney and social justice advocate working at the intersection of policy, political strategy, and media. She currently serves as a vice president at the Center for American Progress and a senior adviser for the Center for American Progress Action Fund. Starting spring 2017, she added another facet to her work, becoming a co-host of the highly acclaimed podcast Thinking CAP, a 30-minute weekly news and politics podcast that has maintained steady but fast growth, reaching No. 16 on the iTunes Top 200 list for News and Politics podcasts in early August and No. 125 for all podcasts.
Jawando holds a B.A. with honors from Hampton University and received her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law. When she is not busy promoting social justice, she is busy raising three daughters—Alia, Addison, and Ava—with her husband Will Jawando in Silver Spring, Maryland.
